This research has objectives to 1) study online social network use behavior, online social network addiction, social comparison, self-esteem, and depression 2) study the relativity between online social network use behavior, online social network addiction, social comparison, self-esteem, and depression and 3) study whether online social network use behavior, online social network addiction, social comparison, and self-esteem can be used to predict depression. This research is a quantitative research using a survey method by means of an online questionnaire from a sample group of 400 users of the Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter online social network services. The research found that the majority of the sample group has a frequency of online social network use at 12 times per day, the time consumed using online social networks combined for 5 hours per day, and that the main objective of using online social networks was to communicate or contact with others. The research also found that the majority of users displayed signs of addition to online social networking by spending more time than planned on those online social network services. In terms of social comparison, the research found that the majority of the sample group compared their skills at a certain field to others who are better than them in that field. In addition, the research resulted in the findings that a majority of the sample group felt invaluable. In terms of depression, the majority of the sample group displayed symptoms of depression such as insomnia or excessive sleeping behavior. The research discovered that online social network time consumption, online social network addiction, social comparison, and self-esteem were all significantly relative. The factors that can help to predict depression, in order of importance, are self-esteem, online social network addiction, and social comparison whereas self-esteem is inversely relative to depression. The three factors can predict depression in an individual at 43.9% (R-Squared value of .439)
