Abstract: |
This study was designed by cross-sectional study to assess the communication efficiency of digital boards indicating air quality at Maptaput Industrial Estate in Rayong province. The data were collected by using questionnaire with 390 people living in with Huaypong, Mabtaput and Banchang subdistricts. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics which are frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation (SD) and interferential statistics which are ANOVA t-Test and Pearson Correlation
This study found that the samples were 57.0 % male, 26-35 years old (33.3%), 76.4% married, had educational level of under bachelor degree (30.5%) and 36.0 % were industrial plant employees, and had lived in Rayong province for 6-10 years (43.3%). Regarding the level of relevant factors, the study found that the communication factor was moderate (mean= 8.6, SD= 2.23), the behavioral supporting factor was moderate (mean=16.07%, SD=3.80) and the communication efficiency (knowledge, attitude and behavior) was moderate (mean= 12.5, SD= 3.2). The hypothesis testing found that gender, status, educational level, occupation and period of living in Rayong did not significantly affect the communication efficiency while the communication factor and behavioral factor significantly affected the communication efficiency of the digital boards (p< 0.001). Recommendations from this study are 1) improve the presentation to be easier to understand and 2) provide plans or projects to train the local people for the practices in case of emergency. |
