Abstract: |
Nowadays, various industries widely utilize Knowledge Management Systems (KMSs) to facilitate knowledge management activities for improving organizational performance. Nevertheless, organizations that use KMSs, are still facing difficulties in managing knowledge. This research intends to enhance the functionalities of KMSs to better facilitate all KM processes. First, the research aims to identify current problems occurred in the organization during knowledge discovery, knowledge capture, knowledge sharing, and knowledge application processes. The research uses a qualitative approach by conducting an interview with selected organizations in Thailand. The problems collected from the first part of the research are considered together with the idea of disruptive technologies. In order to have competitive advantage in the market, the organization need to keep up with disruptive technologies. This research then proposes KMSs’ functionalities which includes enhancing existing functions and developing new functions. The proposed KMSs’ functionalities have been verified by KM experts from selected organizations in Thailand. Several benefits of proposed KMSs’ functionalities are supporting employee learning, enabling work efficiency and effectiveness, discovering new insights, and improving organizational processes. |
