Guidelines for the Development of Tourist Guide Potential in Satun Province

Abstract

This research aims 1) to study the importance and performance of tourist guide potential in Satun province 2) to evaluate the tourist guide potential in Satun province and 3) to propose guidelines for the development of tourist guide potential in Satun province. This study was quantitative method research. Data was collected through 400 questionnaires from Thai and foreign tourists visiting at Satun province by using a tourist guide in Satun province. The data from the questionnaires were analyzed according to descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation. The hypothesis tested by t-test, F-test and evaluate the tourist guide potential in Satun province by technique Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA)

The study result, The overall importance of tourist guide potential in Satun province was high level. When this was considered and put in order from high to low, found that all dimensions which were at a high level respectively as follows: Ethic, Attitude, Skill, Personality and Knowledge. The overall performance of tourist guide potential in Satun province was high level. When this was considered and put in order from high to low, a moderate level was knowledge. Most were 4 dimensions which were at a high level respectively as follows: Attitude, Personality, Ethic and Skill.

When evaluate the tourist guide potential in Satun province found that; The preparation of the guide before receiving and sending tourists, Practices during the full tour of various matters, At the end of the tour, the tour guide said farewell and checked the vehicle order, Skills for appropriate time management, Skills for solving immediate problems and punctuality is in Quadrant A (Concentrate Here). It is the potential that needs to be improved urgently.

งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ 1) เพื่อศึกษาระดับความสำคัญและผลการปฏิบัติงานที่มีต่อศักยภาพมัคคุเทศก์จังหวัดสตูล 2) เพื่อประเมินศักยภาพมัคคุเทศก์จังหวัดสตูล 3) แนวทางการพัฒนาศักยภาพมัคคุเทศก์จังหวัดสตูล โดยใช้วิธีการวิจัยเชิงปริมาณ (Quantitative Research) มีการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบสอบถามกับนักท่องเที่ยวชาวไทยและชาวต่างชาติที่เดินทางมาท่องเที่ยวจังหวัดสตูล โดยใช้บริการมัคคุเทศก์ในพื้นที่จังหวัดสตูล จำนวน 400 คน จากนั้นนำข้อมูลที่ได้มาวิเคราะห์โดยใช้สถิติเชิงพรรณนา ได้แก่ ค่าความถี่ ค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ทดสอบสมมุติฐานด้วย สถิติ t-test และ F-test รวมถึงประเมินศักยภาพมัคคุเทศก์จังหวัดสตูล ด้วยเทคนิค Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA)

ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ระดับความสำคัญที่มีต่อศักยภาพมัคคุเทศก์จังหวัดสตูลโดยรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก เมื่อพิจารณาเป็นรายด้านโดยเรียงลำดับค่าเฉลี่ยจากมากไปหาน้อย พบว่าอยู่ในระดับมากทุกด้าน ได้แก่ ด้านจรรยาบรรณในวิชาชีพมัคคุเทศก์ ด้านทัศนคติ ด้านทักษะ ด้านบุคลิกภาพ และด้านความรู้ ตามลำดับ ระดับผลการปฏิบัติงานของมัคคุเทศก์จังหวัดสตูลโดยรวมอยู่ในระดับดี เมื่อพิจารณาเป็นรายด้านโดยเรียงลำดับค่าเฉลี่ยจากมากไปหาน้อย พบว่าส่วนใหญ่อยู่ในระดับดี 4 ด้าน ได้แก่ ด้านทัศนคติ ด้านบุคลิกภาพ ด้านจรรยาบรรณในวิชาชีพมัคคุเทศก์ ด้านทักษะ ตามลำดับ และอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง 1 ด้าน ได้แก่ ด้านความรู้

เมื่อประเมินศักยภาพมัคคุเทศก์จังหวัดสตูลด้วยเทคนิค IPA (Importance-Performance Analysis) พบว่า ศักยภาพในด้านการเตรียมความพร้อมของมัคคุเทศก์ก่อนการรับและส่งนักท่องเที่ยว การปฏิบัติระหว่างการนำเที่ยวอย่างครบวงจรในเรื่องต่างๆ เมื่อสิ้นสุดการเดินทางท่องเที่ยวมัคคุเทศก์มีการกล่าวอำลาและตรวจสอบความเรียบร้อยในยานพาหนะ ทักษะการบริการจัดการเวลาที่เหมาะสม ทักษะในการแก้ไขปัญหาเฉพาะหน้า และความตรงต่อเวลา อยู่ใน Quadrant A (Concentrate Here) เป็นประเด็นที่ต้องปรับปรุงอย่างเร่งด่วน
